Seasonal and decadal forecasting
We develop seasonal forecasting models for years, months or weeks ahead, designed ad-hoc for each client.
The main objective of this project was to analyze the vulnerabilities of four different sectors (energy, port management, agriculture and water management, and floods and emergencies) and the risks that climate change and extreme weather events pose to them. To address them, updated climate information was provided to improve the planning and execution of water, supply and energy infrastructures.
This has been achieved based on an innovative methodology capable of integrating both climate risk information and meteorological information as well as their present and future effects on vulnerable elements. This integration is embodied in two tools updated at specific time scales, intradecadal and interannual, called CRIT and MEET respectively.
This holistic approach is the basis for these tools, which represent a major decision-making support for these sectors.
CRISI-ADAPT II has been developed throughout the Mediterranean basin, with case studies in 5 countries: Portugal, Spain, Malta, Italy and Cyprus.

We develop seasonal forecasting models for years, months or weeks ahead, designed ad-hoc for each client.
We design tools to simulate expected changes in future climate and assess how they may affect us through risk and vulnerability analysis.
