Early Warning System
We develop visualization tools and GIS-based platforms for decision support.
The Early Warning System project to support beekeeping, developed by FIC as part of the Agropesquero project, is an application of the Nicamet system.
Based on these weather forecasts for the next few days, a series of derived meteorological variables adapted to the place and the sector are calculated, which allow us to know several days in advance how the beehives may be affected in different Nicaraguan municipalities. In this way, they can plan and optimize beekeeping activities while minimizing risks, contributing to the subsistence of beekeeping in the region.
The information is transmitted daily through bulletins sent to beekeepers and beekeepers. The newsletters are sent through specialized Telegram channels for the various beekeeping areas included in the project.
This project, developed with European Union funds, has had the collaboration of Meteogrid and Friends of the Earth Spain in Nicaragua.
