We make predictions of the probability of occurrence of extreme phenomena adapted to the needs of each case study.
PRECI-MED was born with the objective of deepening in the algorithms of rainfall estimation by means of radars and this project is developed.
PRECI-MED was born with the objective of deepening in the algorithms of rainfall estimation by means of radars and this project is developed. The use of these radars allows a quantitative estimation of precipitation, improving the estimation made by a pluviometric network alone. This improvement also includes the differentiation by type of rainfall through the n index, which serves as an indicator of the temporal distribution of rainfall. Thus, it has been able to implement an accurate system to improve the estimation of erosion risk or fire hazard indices.
All of this is subsequently incorporated into an Early Warning System developed from the implementation in several pilot cases. Within this development, an area with special risk has been selected and subsequently incorporated in the previous results for the implementation and start-up of the monitoring and surveillance system.
