Consulting and adaptation strategies
We offer consulting solutions for the design of adaptation measures, plans and strategies aimed at increasing climate resilience.
In line with our founding objectives, since 2009 we have participated in international cooperation projects focused on improving the capacity to adapt to change in countries with low socioeconomic indicators.
Through these projects, we transfer knowledge and technology to both public administrations and civil society organizations, with the financial support of international cooperation agencies, such as the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) or the European Commission.
This area of activity requires an additional effort from FIC staff to adapt tools normally already implemented in Europe to very different working contexts and, at the same time, to train people in the countries of intervention to improve their autonomy in the adaptation process. Despite the difficulties inherent in participating in this type of action, we maintain our commitment to solidarity given the need to address climate change globally.
We offer consulting solutions for the design of adaptation measures, plans and strategies aimed at increasing climate resilience.
We work to contribute our knowledge in climate research, as a pioneer in statistical regionalization, and we offer training for the support and strengthening of scientific capacities.
We make predictions of the probability of occurrence of extreme phenomena adapted to the needs of each case study.
We develop visualization tools and GIS-based platforms for decision support.
We prepare climate change impact assessment studies on various areas to assist in strategic decision making.
We develop seasonal forecasting models for years, months or weeks ahead, designed ad-hoc for each client.
We design tools to simulate expected changes in future climate and assess how they may affect us through risk and vulnerability analysis.
