R&D&I
We work to contribute our knowledge in climate research, as a pioneer in statistical regionalization, and we offer training for the support and strengthening of scientific capacities.
At FIC we have extensive experience in the design of climate change adaptation solutions in agriculture for any type of crop. Based on our own developments in climate regionalization, we develop tools and reports for agricultural planning at a scale adjusted to the client’s needs, in order to optimize the recommendation of actions to make crops more resilient to climate change and extreme weather events.
In addition to being based on the most reliable, current and detailed climatic information possible, our climate change adaptation studies in the agricultural field are based on an exhaustive impact analysis, developed taking into account all the characteristics of the crop variety to be analyzed and the terrain in which it is located. All this to improve the strategic planning of agricultural activities and to help find those varieties that are more resistant to climatic vicissitudes.
We also design agrometeorological applications in the form of Early Warning Systems, so that at any time and from the cell phone can support decision-making in the management of agricultural activities in the short term. With the help of this tool we help prevent crop damage caused by meteorological phenomena and improve productivity.
We work to contribute our knowledge in climate research, as a pioneer in statistical regionalization, and we offer training for the support and strengthening of scientific capacities.
We make predictions of the probability of occurrence of extreme phenomena adapted to the needs of each case study.
We develop visualization tools and GIS-based platforms for decision support.
We offer consulting solutions for the design of adaptation measures, plans and strategies aimed at increasing climate resilience.
We prepare climate change impact assessment studies on various areas to assist in strategic decision making.
We develop seasonal forecasting models for years, months or weeks ahead, designed ad-hoc for each client.
We design tools to simulate expected changes in future climate and assess how they may affect us through risk and vulnerability analysis.
