Project description

National platform to support the Spanish cities of the European Mission of Climate Neutras Cities and the Adaptation Mission, financed by FB/MITECO. The UTE BV-FIC leads the Technical Secretariat for Mitigation, responsible for the services of the 2030 hub CitiES aimed at the 7 Mission Cities and all mission-minded cities.

Activities undertaken:

Strategic and operational coordination of the Technical Secretariat for Mitigation (STM).
Preparation and delivery of deliverables P1–P3 to the Biodiversity Foundation; P4 in preparation (Dec. 2026).
Drafting of governance minutes (Anillos 2, 4 and inter-lot coordination) and of the “Monday Cities” meetings.
Planning and launching of the first quarterly activities: Roadshow #1, Training Itinerary #1, Breakfast #1 and Working Groups.
Development of a climate finance dossier for cities (~97 instruments in 16 categories).
Organization of the Annual Meeting of CitiES 2030 (July 2026, Fundación Biodiversidad, Madrid).

Support for the process of accession of new cities and management of the platform’s contact base.
