About the project

COBIOCCLIM, or Connecting biodiversity to adapt to the future climate, is an initiative aimed at strengthening ecological connectivity as a key strategy for adaptation to the future climate in Spain.

Objectives

This initiative integrates spatial analysis, territorial planning and multi-stakeholder participation to:n

  • Assess the functionality of current and potential corridors.

  • Design restoration and green infrastructure improvement strategies.

  • Incorporate climate adaptation into regional planning.

n nnThe project contributes to consolidating a territorial adaptation approach that connects science, governance and action across the landscape.

About the project

COBIOCCLIM identifies biodiversity refuges under future climate scenarios and, through this, designs and evaluates ecological corridors that facilitate species movement and ecosystem functionality in a context of climate transformation.nnThe project infographic is shown on the left.
