About the project

Nicaver is a system developed for Ometepe Island (Nicaragua) that allows the management of vulnerable elements against various types of hazards. With a simple and user-friendly interface and easy permanent updating, Nicaver presents the most necessary information in an emergency, i.e. location and characteristics of the elements to be protected, and makes it available to the different institutions responsible for emergency response.

Objectives

Nicaver considers lahar, flood, forest fire and windstorm risks, generates vulnerability maps for these risks and is integrated with the Nicamet fire simulator.

Nicaver has been developed with the collaboration and expertise of the National Agrarian University of Nicaragua (UNA), Meteogrid, the Entre Volcanes Foundation (FEV) and Friends of the Earth Spain in Nicaragua.
