Prediction of extreme events
We make predictions of the probability of occurrence of extreme phenomena adapted to the needs of each case study.
Systemic integration of transformative technical and nature-based solutions to improve climate neutrality in European cities and regions and address climate change.
URBREATH aims to develop, implement, demonstrate, validate and replicate a comprehensive urban revitalisation methodology based on community and stakeholder participation, focused on greening and renaturalisation.
This process will be supported by advanced technologies developed and tested by the project. The project will use techniques such as local digital twins and artificial intelligence, as well as social innovation, to achieve its vision.
The climate neutrality paradigm is at the core of this methodology, whose goal is to regenerate disadvantaged and abandoned areas, brownfields and other problematic sites through physical transformations of the built environment and renaturalisation interventions that will radically improve social interactions, inclusion, equity and liveability in cities.
To this end, URBREATH has identified the following specific objectives:
We make predictions of the probability of occurrence of extreme phenomena adapted to the needs of each case study.
We develop seasonal forecasting models for years, months or weeks ahead, designed ad-hoc for each client.
We design tools to simulate expected changes in future climate and assess how they may affect us through risk and vulnerability analysis.
