Consulting and adaptation strategies
We offer consulting solutions for the design of adaptation measures, plans and strategies aimed at increasing climate resilience.
Vulnerability to extreme weather events is increasing international concern about the impact of climate change on cities.
Since 2009, FIC has had an area specialized in urban development and climate change as a result of the appointment of an expert scientific advisor to the Foundation in this area. We now have a team of specialists who carry out consultancy and projects aimed at analyzing the impact of climate change and its implications on urban development and planning.
FIC has extensive international experience developing climate services for cities, including consulting in urban planning for the adaptation of infrastructures to extreme weather events. We have also developed prestigious climate change vulnerability studies for cities through specialized indexes.
Knowing the footprint of any city in the world in the process of climate change is a first step to be able to fight the climate emergency. At the Foundation we are proud to have helped as a consultancy to multiple cities in different countries to know their emission levels to the atmosphere.
We offer consulting solutions for the design of adaptation measures, plans and strategies aimed at increasing climate resilience.
We work to contribute our knowledge in climate research, as a pioneer in statistical regionalization, and we offer training for the support and strengthening of scientific capacities.
We make predictions of the probability of occurrence of extreme phenomena adapted to the needs of each case study.
We develop visualization tools and GIS-based platforms for decision support.
We prepare climate change impact assessment studies on various areas to assist in strategic decision making.
We develop seasonal forecasting models for years, months or weeks ahead, designed ad-hoc for each client.
We design tools to simulate expected changes in future climate and assess how they may affect us through risk and vulnerability analysis.
